Schoogle is not a weekend project or a pivot. It is the product of over a decade of research, iteration, and a deeply held conviction that the right technology can close Nigeria's education gap for good.
The idea that refused to go away
In 2015, Lawal Fashola noticed something that bothered him: in Nigeria, a student's performance in WAEC, JAMB, or NECO had less to do with how smart they were and more to do with the postcode they grew up in. Students in well-resourced environments had private tutors, curated practice banks, and teachers with the time and tools to give personalised attention. Most students had none of that.
The question became an obsession: what if technology could be that equaliser?
What followed was not a quick build. It was years of research — studying how students actually learn under real Nigerian conditions, with intermittent power, inconsistent data connections, and examinations that carry the weight of an entire family's expectations. It was years of talking to teachers, parents, school administrators, and most importantly, students themselves.
It was years of building prototypes, discarding them, and starting again. Of understanding that foreign EdTech models do not transplant cleanly into the Nigerian context. That the curriculum, the exam formats, the economics, and the culture all demand something purpose-built — not repurposed.
Co-Founder Jamaaldeen Fashola brought the engineering and product discipline to turn that decade of learning into a real platform. Together, they built Schoogle not around what was trendy in EdTech, but around what Nigerian students genuinely needed: great content, AI-powered tutoring that understands the Nigerian syllabus, and tools that work for schools of every size and budget.
Schoogle is launching now. But in the truest sense, it has been in development for over ten years. That patience is not something we apologise for — it is why we are confident it was worth the wait.

The founders
Two people. One decade. One mission.
Lawal conceived Schoogle in 2015 after observing how sharply a student's exam outcomes correlated with the resources around them — not their ability. He has spent the decade since building the platform he wished existed.
Jamaaldeen joined the mission early, bringing the technical and product depth needed to turn a decade of research into a platform Nigerian students could actually use. He leads the engineering and product direction at Schoogle.
